GOOD MORNING WORLD!
I’m proud to announce that I am the official choreographer for the upcoming stage play, “FAT GIRL DIARIES,” right here in Atlanta! This is my first time EVER working on a play, so I’m thrilled to be able to experience something new. Over the past 10 years I’ve been able to shine as a dancer, a performer, and a choreographer on stage. Now I have an opportunity to create movement for actors & dancers in a different capacity than what I’m used to. Awesome. Thank You to the creator of Fat Girl Diaries, Miss Learical Jonez, for presenting me with the opportunity to showcase my talents on a new stage. I am very happy to be a part of this and would
for you all to share this experience with me!

Would you leave your husband if he cheated, even if you had a child together? What would you do if your boyfriend of 3 years called you his friend…in front of his friends? How about your husband constantly criticizing you because you don’t look like the women on TV?

Hey World! I know how much info. I’ve been throwing at you guys lately, so I wanted to do a breakdown of my Fresh Cuts Journey for ya!
*BOSSIP is an online gossip & entertainment magazine with a focus on African-American & Black celebs, pop culture, & entertainment. They began season 2 of their Fresh Cuts contest back in March, in hopes of finding the next R&B Star! Check out my timeline below 🙂 *
I found out about the auditions the day before and thought I was gonna miss it due to a scheduling conflict; but it turned out they had auditions at 3 different times/locations. I showed up to Emory University, filled out my paperwork, and waited my turn to sing. All of the applicants had to perform in the middle of the University Center – Ah! (Needless to say, I got a pass to the next round. Lol)
I have to give it to ya’ll. All of you that voted & took the time out to watch my audition video helped me get to the next round. I got over 3,000 views in just a week! THANK YA’LL.
I found out on a Monday morning that I was officially a Fresh Cuts Finalist! That was an exciting week. Schedules had to be changed around, shopping needed to be done lol, and I had to prepare for my interview and final performance.
Call time was at noon because each finalist had to get hair and makeup done for the big night! This was a huge deal for me. I had the chance to get styled by Professional Hair (Nikk Nelson) & Makeup artists (Mimi J + Shantell Simms), meet lots of people, perform in front of a new audience, and get instant feedback from people in the entertainment industry. (Oh, and EVERYTHING was filmed lol.) My people came out to support me, including some first timers who had never seen me live before 🙂 I couldn’t have been happier. Thank Ya’ll!
You’ll find out today on Bossip’s site 🙂 Stay tuned!
Until then, check out my ‘Road to the Fresh Cuts Talent Showcase’ below!
Thanks for tuning in! Much Love…

Hey World! Hope everyone had good weekend. I had the opportunity to perform at BODL: Battle of the Dance Lines 2015. The comp1etition took place at the Georgia World Congress Center and was filled with families, dancers, dance teams, and talent of all ages! This was my first time ever performing in the Sidney Young Auditorium – I love a BIG stage! It was awesome. Shout out to all of the young dancers: Keep perfecting your crafts! Imagine how great you’re going to be when you become an adult! Lol …I sometimes think about what it would be like now, if I wasn’t so scared to perform in front of others as a child. I waited until I became an adult – at least that’s when I stop letting that fear control me. So it’s always inspiring to see young people follow their passion at a very young age. Okay, now I’m done venting lol…
As mentioned in my previous blog, I have NEW performance footage for ya’ll! This past July I performed at the first International Bicycle & Music Festival (IBMF) in Stone Mountain, GA. This event was like a big, fun block party! I did a 15 minute set, and “Rock the Mic” was my closing piece. I had never performed this song in Georgia before. The first time I ever did this song was at Juneteenth in MKE back in 2013! Lol I LOVED the energy exchange on this piece, and couldn’t wait to add this to my live show. Watch us get down below! Don’t forget to subscribe guys 🙂

Good Evening World!
How ya’ll doing?! …I hope all is well and everybody is starting their week off riight! As mentioned in a previous post, my team & I were on a much needed break. During that time I had the opportunity to at attend a beautiful wedding reception, plus visit family & friends in the Midwest. Praise God to be able to travel. Once I got back to Atlanta, it was bAcK2Bi’ness! lol Last night we hit the stage at the Music Room for “The Xperience” R&B/Hip Hop concert. If you missed out, no worries. I have two more shows this weekend! It don’t stop. 🙂
“Now back to the lesson at hand…”
So I don’t enjoy listening to the radio all the time because a lot of the rap music sounds the same and I can’t always relate to the subject matter. However, there are times when a song will catch my attention & pull me in. I will admit Rich Homie Quan’s “Flex” did just that. lol I love how catchy the hook is and the music itself.
One day I was playing around with the instrumental and started thinking how I could turn this song around, lyrically. I wanted something sassy, something I could relate to, yet still keep it fun & catchy by utilizing the original melodies…
“Walked on the stage, mic in my hand, don’t speak, hips sangin, Oooh / Baddies by my side, left to the right, everybody lookin like, O-o-uh-oh!..” Lol Yass! (Shoutout to my girls, Mychala & Marquita who hold me down on stage 😉 )
Take a listen to the FULL song below, tell me your thoughts on my cover & please share!

Peace Out! TTYL 🙂

PS… If you’re in the Atlanta area, come through Apache Cafe TONIGHT for Kevin Shine’s Birthday Celebration & Marquee Showcase! It’s all about Good Music, Life & Community. 🙂
Happy Thursday!!! #TeamAshleYYY
YOU know what time it izzz… F! F! F! 😀 (Fun Fact Friday)
1. I think my favorite festival “food” would have to be FUNNEL CAKES! [a crisp, deep-fried cake, made by pouring batter through a funnel into fat or oil, usually in a spiral shape, and dusted with powdered sugar.] Anytime I go to a festival I leave with one. Makes me miss Summerfest & State Fair back home 🙁
2. I’ve discovered some new RADIO STATIONS in Atlanta.. Praise GOD! Now I listen to OG 97.9 & BOOM 102.9 for Classic Hip Hop! They play ALL my favorite throwbacks. I get so sick of hearing the same stuff on the radio, it’s actually refreshing to hear old school jams – the music I listened to growing up & dancing to in college. Lol
3. I used to feel a way about, buuut now I don’t really care. Lol I enjoy taking FOOD PICS.. especially at restaurants. Presentation is everything & its just nice to capture the moment. Food is like art you can eat! 🙂 hehee! [You ever been in a nice restaurant and as soon as your plate came out, you snapped a pic real fast on the low, hoping nobody saw?! ..like it was illegal or something?! HA!]
4. I went to the ATLANTA JAZZ FESTIVAL in Piedmont Park for the first time! I loved it!! OMG – next year we need a big group of friends and will have to set up a tent or something lol that park is huge! Good outdoor fun 🙂
5. WHERE THE STAGE AT????!!! 😉 TWO shows coming up next month…
June 27th – Loc Livin Under The Stars [Atlanta, GA] & June 28th – Highlight Real [Riverdale, GA] Click on my –> CALENDAR for details & SUBSCRIBE! 🙂 HaPpY FriDAy & Have a fun–filled weekend guys! Love ya.

The Xperience Music Series @ Enclave (Jan 2015) The very next night I performed at Enclave for the first time. I did ‘Find Me’ and most definitely left everything on that stage lol #OneWomanShow
Music & Soul 5 @ Apache Café (Feb 2015) This was one of my favorite shows because I felt like I really took risks. I’m going to keep challenging myself to do be in the moment when I’m on that stage & not be afraid to let go! Try something new! No playing it safe.
Ladies Werking @ Suede Lounge (February) Lol. Now this was a lonng, fun night. We had two performances back to back at different locations. Mychala was under the weather and STILL performed like nobody’s business! We ended the night at Gladys Night’s Signature Chicken & Waffles and I ordered the ‘Midnight Train’ for the first time. lol (Hungry just thinking about it…omg let me finish this post.. *mouth watering*)
